HARARE - Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze is optimistic FIFA financial experts that were in the country to assess ZIFA’s financial situation will come up with a roadmap that will improve the local football governing body’s financial situation.

FIFA experts who were in the country to assess ZIFA’s financial situation, wound up their fact finding mission before flying out of the country on Thursday.

Mashingaidze says the visit marks the beginning of the association’s recovery path.

FIFA’s delegation is now expected to prepare a report before producing a road map for the local football governing body.

The visit by FIFA experts comes at a time the ZIFA is facing financial difficulties.

The association had property worth thousands of dollars attached by the Deputy Sheriff after failing to settle its debts with service providers.

Only last month, the Zimbabwe Under 20 soccer team failed to travel to Angola due to the absence of funds.
